Reflections of Autumn III

Larger View
"REFLECTIONS OF AUTUMN III" is a beautiful work of color and light, mood and atmosphere. This lovely work is 30" w x 24"h and is an original oil painting that is gallery wrapped and unframed. It was completed in 2006 and pictures a view of a creek with woods on both side that are adorned with an abundance of lush, colorful autumn foliage. Autumn is the artist's favourite season of the year because it contains a little bit of each of the other seasons' colors in it. The water is quite still in this scene so the reflections of the trees in the water are only slightly more hazy than the actual foliage. The sun shining through the woods brings bright and cheerful highlights to the already brilliant leaves. If the viewer could imagine themselves in this delightful place, they might hear a gentle breeze rustling the abundance of beautifully colored leaves. They might hear the crickets, squirrels, maybe a bull frog or see racoon come out of the woods for a morning drink. They would probably hear the quiet rippling water, and feel a sense of appreciation to our Creator for giving us such beautiful scenes to enjoy. It is always the goal of the artist to convey to the viewer the beauty and wonder of nature. This work evokes feelings of peace and serenity, beauty and grace, rest and relaxation, relief and refreshment. This painting would make a most appreciated, unexpected and beautiful gift and would certainly make a great conversation piece to adorn any room in the home or office.
