COLORS
The music of the eyes
In his journals, Delacroix said that colors are "the music of the eyes," that they "combine like sounds" that create harmonies rivaling those produced by the great composers with great orchestras. In fact, he says: "Certain color harmonies produce sensations that even music cannot achieve." This artist tries hard to produce color harmonies that create positive and uplifting sensations.
Always, the subject matter of Hudson River School artists was God's creation nature as a constant and benevolent nurturer of human experience. Connie believes that nature is a way of God speaking to us in beauty and power. Don't miss out on this striking and unique work as an investment opportunity of this very collectable artist's work and adding the splendor of the ocean and sunset to your home. Her style is true to the original Hudson River School.
"LIGHT!"
That magical glow of "Light"! Connie is constantly fascinated, sometimes driven, to capture that elusive Spirit of Light. Whether it's the joyful dance of sunlight on the shimmering waters, moody landscapes, using vibrant contrasts and dramatic light, it is obvious that "Light" is a driving force in Connie's life and art.
Buyer: Buyer will receive a signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and a Provenance Statement with their name added to it.
About the Artist: Long before Connie ever knew there was a Hudson River School, she painted in the style and subject matter or the Hudson River School artists, who lived back in the 1800's. So after discovering them, she felt such a deep relational association with them, that she felt almost like she was an artist born out of time and an extension. Almost like a baton has been passed on to her which she readily takes up with deep appreciation in painting and intense studies of the philosophies associated with this revered 19th century group. But the artist attributes that it is the time each morning she spends with God the Father and her faith in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that guides her spirit and her brush in her paintings. She is very thankful for the talents and gifts she's been given and she hopes her paintings will bring praise, honor and glory to God.
Nationally recognized for her stunning portrayals of nature and wildlife, Connie Tom's works have been presented both in art exhibitions, private galleries and major art collections worldwide. Connie is a full time, professional artist who is a juried member of both NOAPS (National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society) and the OPA (Oil Painters of America) concentrating her practice upon private artist commissionings and a broad range of studies. Her work has been in the Limited Edition Art Shoppers Guide of Southwest Art Magazine and she has shown in professionally juried art shows as the National Western and Wildlife Art Collectors Exhibit in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
